As per a recent SPORT report, Chelsea has expressed a keen interest in securing the services of the promising midfielder Gavi from Barcelona. The young Spanish talent has rapidly progressed since his debut for Barcelona’s senior team in 2021, attracting widespread attention from various clubs.

Gavi’s journey began when he joined Barcelona’s renowned youth academy, ‘La Masia,’ in 2015. Gradually climbing the ranks, he earned a spot in the first team in 2021. Impressively, despite his young age, he has already accumulated nearly 100 appearances for the senior team, contributing to 18 goals.

Last season saw Gavi’s involvement in 49 matches, amassing over 3500 minutes of playtime and contributing to 10 goals. However, his potential playing time under coach Xavi during the 2023-24 season could be limited.

Barcelona’s recent signings indicate that Gavi might not secure an automatic starting position, and a significant portion of his minutes might come as a substitute or even as a starter on the left wing.
