Inter Miami, the team that Lionel Messi plays for, reportedly received an invitation to compete in the upcoming Copa Libertadores.

The invitation, according to journalist Hugo Balassone, was issued at CONMEBOL’s request by Chiqui Tapia, head of the Argentine Football Association.

This yearly event, which was first held in 1960, is commonly regarded as the highest level of club football competition in South America.
