🚨 Chelsea Triggers Michael Olise’s Release Clause as Todd Boehly’s Transfer Spending Nears £1 Billion

Chelsea is said to have triggered Michael Olise’s Crystal Palace release clause.

The Blues would pay the South London club £35 million for the explosive winger.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea is now expecting to complete the transaction for the France Under-21 international after the clause was activated.

The 21-year-old Olise has previously been suggested as a possible Riyad Mahrez replacement for Manchester City as well as a possible Bukayo Saka competitor at Arsenal.

Todd Boehly, a co-owner of Chelsea, has been a part of the team since joining it last year, and thanks to the arrangement, he will be able to bolster the team with another expensive player.

The club has already invested £906.8 million in players, including a British record fee of £115 million for Moises Caicedo.

It’s also expected that Romeo Lavia’s £50 million move from Southampton to the Blues will be completed.

If this and Olise’s price were combined together, the club’s expenses for the previous year would come to £991.8m.

By removing all photographs and references to his present team from his Instagram, the Palace star recently gave away that a transfer might be on the horizon.

In 2021, Olise transferred from Reading to Palace for £8 million, and since then, he has become a crucial part of the club.

Last year, he won the club’s goal of the season as well as the player of the season award.

The creative winger thrived throughout the whole Premier League season, accumulating 11 assists.

He is the first Palace player to succeed in doing so.

Olise missed Palace’s victory over Sheffield United on the first day of the season because of a hamstring injury.
