When Manchester United defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 on Monday night in the Premier League, right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka put up a strong performance.
At Old Trafford, the Red Devils began their season with three points, although their performance was far from stellar. On the night, they attempted 15 shots compared to 23 by Wolves.
However, United finally prevailed despite the visitors having better opportunities to score. Wan-Bissaka’s cross was headed in by Raphael Varane for the game-winning goal.
In addition to his assist, the 25-year-old was proficient with the ball yesterday. While he occasionally lost his possessions, overall he was one of the greatest performers.
The right-back completed 40 of his 44 passes, good for a 91 percent completion rate, over an amazing 72 touches. He completed three crucial passes and prevailed in three of four take-on.Wan-Bissaka made a total of six duels won, two tackles, two interceptions, two clearances, and two shots blocked on defense. In preference to Diogo Dalot, the full-back put up a strong performance.Wan-Bissaka displays his value in a strong performance.Dalot and Wan-Bissaka are presently vying for the right-back spot. The latter recently entered into a long-term deal, but Ten Hag was content to keep working with the Englishman. The former Crystal Palace student did well yesterday against Wolves. He clearly showed improvement in the final with his movement and link-up play. When necessary, Wan-Bissaka was eager to make overlapping runs. He was in the ideal place to cross for Varane to score the goal, delivering a looping pass. He merits a lot of praise.Hopefully, the right-back can build on his successful campaign thus far. United wants to speak with him about a deal. It might only be a matter of time until he signs a new contract.
