Barcelona’s Summer Surprise: Spanish Duo Among 2-3 Players on the Selling Block

According to insights shared by journalist Javier Miguel in AS, Barcelona is diligently plotting the sale of two to three players in a bid to alleviate wage bill concerns before the transfer window’s closure.

Among those potentially on the departure list are Sergino Dest, Clement Lenglet, and the choice between Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres, viewed as possible sacrifices.

Barcelona, even with the recent addition of three players in this transfer window, continues their search for reinforcements across various positions. The current management directive mandates that before any new signings take place, existing members must be offloaded.

While a few players find themselves in the ‘unwanted’ category, it seems Barcelona might face the challenge of making a more substantial sacrifice as they navigate the summer transfer landscape.

Crucial decisions, for who?

The orchestration of Joao Felix’s potential move to Barcelona, subtly encouraged by football agent Jorge Mendes, has not escaped notice. Xavi, at the helm, appears increasingly receptive to the prospect of Atletico Madrid’s player joining their ranks. However, Xavi’s focus remains twofold: securing a midfielder and a right-back prior to contemplating Felix’s inclusion.

Communication has been clear with Felix and his agent, emphasizing patience as Barcelona navigates its internal processes. Yet, for the envisioned incoming transfers to materialize, departures are inevitable.

Already, the futures of Lenglet and Dest hang in the balance, as both have been advised to seek new paths. Lenglet’s agent is currently engaged in discussions with Barcelona officials to reach an amicable resolution.

Dest, not fitting into Xavi’s immediate plans, is also considering potential exit avenues.

A more complex decision looms regarding a forward position, involving Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres. Both Spanish talents have demonstrated their prowess during pre-season, showing reluctance to depart. However, the club might necessitate an additional significant sale to facilitate further reinforcements. Consequently, either Fati or Torres might be compelled to depart.

While no clear paths have emerged for the attacking duo, Barcelona aims to initiate dialogues through their representatives, seeking the delicate balance between strengthening their squad and navigating their existing talent pool.
