The harmless injury LIONEL MESSI received during practice frightened Inter Miami fans.

Miami may be without its greatest player, though, after it appeared that he suffered a left foot injury during practice.

The 36-year-old caught a pass from one of his colleagues, planted his left foot, and immediately lifted himself up.

Even though he was in tremendous pain, Messi overcame it to transfer the ball to a teammate as he began to stumble around the pitch.

Tata Martino, the player’s coach, immediately downplayed the Barcelona legend’s injury and insisted that everything was “normal” for him.

When questioned about the injury, the Argentine responded, “I didn’t see exactly what happened.

“However, I imagine that if it had been something serious, everyone would have been indignant.

And because everyone was in good health, I think nothing happened.

Messi joined Inter on a free transfer last month when his contract with the French champions Paris Saint-Germain expired.

The Argentina international has been nothing short of a revelation for the side, scoring eight goals in five appearances in all competitions.

Upon his arrival in Florida, Messi said, “I am very happy to have chosen to come to this city with my family, to have chosen this project, and I have no doubt that we are going to enjoy it very much.”
