Chelsea officially signed midfielder Moises Caicedo, with an 8-year contract with a 1-year extension option. According to British media, the Blues had to spend 115 million pounds to get the Ecuadorian player from Brighton.
“I am very happy to be joining Chelsea and have no qualms about being invited by the team. I know I want to wear this shirt. This is a dream come true” – Moises Caicedo shared on the day he landed at Stamford Bridge.
Moises Caicedo is the most expensive transfer in the Premier League in recent times. This player once wrote a letter and quit training to leave Brighton in the January transfer window but failed. The midfielder born in 2001 was also rumored to be “very close” to Arsenal and Liverpool before landing at Chelsea.
Notably, Liverpool seemed to have acquired Moises Caicedo for 110 million pounds. However, this player only wants to join Chelsea and the Blues also increase the bid to Brighton to win against The Kop in this deal.
After signing Moises Caicedo, Chelsea will continue to beat Liverpool in the pursuit of midfielder Romeo Lavia. The Athletic revealed that the 19-year-old only wanted to play for Chelsea despite Liverpool having reached an agreement for a transfer fee of £60 million with Southampton.
