Jesse Lingard is back working with David Moyes

Sky Sports report that the 30-year-old has returned to the Hammers.

And there remains the chance Lingard could be offered a short-term contract by the club.

The attacking midfielder shone at the London Stadium in 2021 while on loan from another club.

He came here from Manchester United in January, and under David Moyes, he found his best form again.

In 16 games, Lingard contributed to nine goals and five assists to help West Ham finish sixth in the Premier League.

His incredible performance earned him a spot back in the England team.

Even though Moyes was anxious to extend his loan and keep him in East London, no deal could be reached with him.

He stayed at Man Utd for another season before his deal expired.

Again, West Ham tried and failed to land him before Forest snapped up the free agent last summer.

However, he failed to impress at the City Ground last term, scoring just twice in 20 appearances.

Lingard played 232 times for Man Utd during his career, winning the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League with his boyhood team.

He has previously admitted he would be open to joining a Saudi Arabian club yet no clubs have offered him a contract this summer.

Lingard spoke to Sky Sports about his future back in June.

“I’m considering all options,” he said. “I’ve never ruled out any team or club out, so for me it’s just picking the right team and it’s got to be right for me.”

When prodded about what he is looking for in his next move, Lingard mentioned the project in Saudi Arabia.

“I want regular game time. I’m still hungry. I’m working hard out here,” he added. “Saudi Arabia… they are doing big things. It’s one of the hotspots to go to.

“I’m not really surprised that a lot of big names are moving out there. They’ve been doing really big things in the last couple years. It’s something that I’m going to consider as well. It’s just got to be right for me at the end of the day.

“I’ll go with my gut feeling. I just want to get on the pitch. I’m still hungry for success.”
