The Sun reports that Ajax are interested in re-signing the 26-year-old midfielder during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Dutch national team player transferred to Man United from Eredivisie club Ajax in 2020 for a reported £39 million.

He had a horrible time with United at Old Trafford and is obviously not in Erik ten Hag’s plans moving forward.

Van van Beek’s miserable stint at Old Trafford may be coming to an end before the transfer window shuts, as the Man United boss is reportedly contemplating deals for Sofyan Amrabat and Amadou Onana.

Ajax are not wealthy with funds this summer after failing to qualify for the Champions League last season, and it is possible that former Manchester United player Donny Van de Beek will return to his former club.

The Dutch powerhouses could extend a loan offer that includes a purchase option or obligation for Van de Beek for the upcoming summer, but that wouldn’t work for Ten Hag. The United manager is frantically trying to collect money so that he can sign a world-class central midfielder this summer. His preference, as reported by the Sun, is to permanently sell his countryman back to Ajax.

Van De Beek’s top priority this summer will be finding a way to leave Manchester United. His career has been stunted, and he needs to come back to focusing on his strengths in an atmosphere he enjoys. Perhaps he just wasn’t suited for playing in the Premier League.
