Pochettino is putting in relentless effort to rejuvenate Chelsea’s stature

Mauricio Pochettino acknowledges that the preparation for his first competitive game as Chelsea’s head coach against Liverpool has been hectic for him and his staff, with 15-hour days at Cobham, but he thinks it is essential to leave no stone unturned in the effort to elevate the team to the top of the league.

Our new manager is well known for the work ethic he instills and demands of his players on the field and in training, but he has also acknowledged that he is no stranger to hard work himself because he feels that he must set an example when it comes to the challenging task of competing in the Premier League.

When discussing our preparations for tomorrow’s opening Premier League match against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, Mauricio Pochettino felt it was important to emphasize the amount of work that has gone into getting the team ready and giving them the best chance of success, and it appears clear that he knows no other way to work.

He affirmed, “We’re busy working out and figuring out a plan for Sunday, and we’re busy working with the rest of the staff to try to create the best environment for the players to feel good.”

But because of this, I must let you know that we arrive at the training place at 6:20 or 6:30 in the morning and go at 8 or 9 in the evening. We spend around 14 or 15 hours there, and sometimes it seems like we still have things to discuss when the day is done.

But the reason for that is that we’re working hard. Even if you work more than 12 hours, you still need time when that occurs, and I think it’s a good sign for everyone at the club. Supporters find it difficult to recognize our advancements, but I think it is essential that we establish the mindset.

He believes it has been especially crucial while preparing for the forthcoming season, as our head coach, himself a recent arrival in west London, brings together a new-look group with the goal of returning the club to its rightful place after a challenging campaign in 2022/23.

When it was suggested to Pochettino that recent events at Chelsea appeared ‘chaotic’ from the outside, the Argentinian said that this evaluation is untrue and that he is anxious to correct it.

“We need to change that perception if that is the perception on social media, among fans, or among people outside of Chelsea,” he continued. “From the outside, I thought Chelsea was a team that could succeed.

Although Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal have been at the top recently, Manchester United and Chelsea have won the Premier League and the Champions League over the past 15 years. That’s how Chelsea appeared to me from a distance.

However, what actually happened did happen, and it has been a terrible scenario for the locals, the spectators, and the players. With a huge club like Chelsea, it’s a significant shift, and people need time to get used to it.

“For me, it’s about changing the circumstances so that people can once again have faith in the club and try to play fantastic football for the fans, because we’re selling entertainment and they come here to see a show from the team, and get results,” said the player.

The notion that our efforts this season could be hampered by the relative lack of Premier League experience in this Chelsea squad was another outsider perspective that Pochettino was eager to dispel. The Blues manager acknowledges its value, but he thinks that regardless of a player’s age or level of experience, they must have the will and ambition to succeed.

Results will determine if we are stronger or weaker than last season, but I am happy anyway. We have players with Premier League experience. Although some of our players are young, they are of excellent quality and ability. They’re ready to show off their skills.

There are seasoned players who don’t always desire to win. With just these players, you cannot win. If you have talented, seasoned players that want to win and exhibit hunger, give me this kind of guy. Otherwise, no.

“I prefer players who choose to play, run, and fight for the team, for their teammates, over those with experience who think it is better to move,” said the athlete. However, I’m happy to work with the squad and the club to create something that will return us to where we all think we can be.

It won’t be long before we witness the results of all that labor of love and dedication on the Stamford Bridge field with the 2023–24 Premier League now in full swing and Chelsea’s opening game of the season just one day away.
