To make it apparent that they do not want Mason Greenwood to be reintegrated into the club’s plans, a group of Manchester United supporters is preparing a series of protests.
Before Monday’s season-opening match at home against Wolverhampton Wanderers, the fans, all of whom are regulars at Old Trafford games, want to voice their opinions publicly outside the stadium.
The following is written on a banner constructed in United’s colors: “Female Fans Demand No Greenwood Return – End Violҽncҽ Against Womҽn.”
One of the organizers, who requested anonymity out of concern for his safety from Greenwood’s supporters, told The Athletic, “It’s time for the club to stand up and make the right decision.” It’s time to make clear that United has high expectations for players’ behavior and that, if they don’t live up to them, they must be let go.
“The club is at a turning point at this point. Will they support capitalism, winning trophies, and money? Or will they support the cause of the supporters who attend games and the club as a social and civic institution that we can be proud to have as a part of our identity?
Greenwood, 21, hasn’t appeared for United since his arrest in January 2022 for allegedly making a sҽxuɑl ɑssɑult tape that was posted online.
