According to reports, Liverpool is about to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo in a British record deal.

According to The Athletic, Jurgen Klopp’s team allegedly made a deal worth up to Β£110 million, and Brighton accepted it.

Caicedo, 21, had appeared destined to sign with Chelsea this summer, but he will now sign with Liverpool as soon as this Friday.

Final bids were to be submitted by Thursday at midnight, and Liverpool responded with a price of Β£110 million while Chelsea offered Β£100 million.

The Reds don’t anticipate having any trouble reaching a personal agreement with the player, and a medical exam is set for Friday.

He had publicly expressed a desire to join Chelsea, only for Liverpool to sabotage the move.

Given their prolonged pursuit of the midfielder this summer, Chelsea would suffer a significant setback if Caicedo signed with Liverpool.

Brighton has rejected several of the Blues’ offers, but they still seemed hopeful that they might complete a move before the transfer window closes at the beginning of September.

This setback occurs just two days before they play Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in their opening Premier League game, and they now appear destined to lose out on his signing to one of their main rivals.

Romeo Lavia of Southampton has attracted a lot of interest from both clubs as they aim to bolster their midfields.

Dominik Szoboszlai

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai were already added by Liverpool in this transfer season.

The Championship club has rejected Liverpool’s three offers, and their most recent one, for Β£46 million, is less than Southampton’s Β£50 million asking price.

Chelsea outbid that offer this week with a Β£47 million offer, but they have not yet reached a deal with the Saints.

By bringing in Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai earlier this summer, Liverpool significantly boosted their midfield; nevertheless, Caicedo will now fill the void left by Fabinho’s recent move to Saudi Arabia.

Tyler Adams, the USA captain, was just acquired by Chelsea from Leeds thanks to a release clause, but the club will now need to refocus after potentially missing out on their top priority for the entire summer transfer window.
