Despite having already signed Rasmus Hojlund, Manchester United may still try to conclude a deal for Victor Osimhen as part of a new recruitment strategy.
Prior to the team’s preseason friendly against Lens at Old Trafford on Saturday, Hojlund was formally introduced as a member of the United team.
Due to a “small issue,” the Dane was initially declared out of commission for a brief length of time. The forward is expected to miss game time during the early part of the season, according to the Daily Mail, who claim that the problem, which is allegedly a stress reaction hotspot on his back, is more significant than initially stated.
The revelation will be a big setback for United, who signed Hojlund to lessen the pressure on Marcus Rashford to score goals for the team.
But they will now have to wait till the 20-year-old makes his formal entrance. The club has yet to assign the Danish player a squad number.
This summer, United made several promising acquisitions; with the addition of Hojlund, their spending has surpassed the $150 million barrier, joining the acquisitions of Mason Mount from Chelsea and Andre Onana from Inter Milan. The Manchester Evening News reports that United have found a new transfer approach that could help them add more elite talent.
