For Harry Kane, an agreement in principle has been agreed between Tottenham and Bayern Munich.
The teams have been negotiating over the drawn-out transfer of Kane to Munich for a number of weeks, and a deal close to £100 million has now been reached.
With the perception that the England captain was leaning toward staying with Spurs, Kane must now decide if he wants to transfer to Germany.
Bayern’s third bid, for £86 million, which was put up last week, was rejected.
The rejected bid, though, was reportedly not far off from what Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy desired for Kane.
Levy estimates the talismanic striker’s worth at £120 million, but reliable sources claimed that a bid of around £100 million would persuade the club to sell a player who would otherwise be free to leave in the summer.
And after more discussions, Bayern’s increased offer—supposed to be worth at least £95 million—was accepted.
Kane won’t consider a move once the Premier League season starts because he wants his future decided by the weekend.
As of right now, Bayern has satisfied all requirements to sign Kane, who would earn somewhere around £400,000 per week with the German powerhouses.
Kane must now decide whether or not he wants to travel to Germany.
As Postecoglou’s team put on a great display in front of the new season, Spurs supporters sang to the forward, “We want you to stay.”
Kane expected his future to be settled before Spurs’ season opener on Sunday at Brentford.
The England and Spurs captain has one year left on his deal and has no plans to extend it this summer, so he could still go on his own terms the following year.
