Real Madrid’s new Adidas third uniform, which is inspired by the club’s Champions League victory in 2000, was introduced for the 2023–24 season.
The black jersey with yellow accents is reminiscent of the one Madrid wore in the all-Spanish final versus Valencia in Paris, which was decisively won by goals from Fernando Morientes, Steve McManaman, and Raul. It was the team’s eighth victory in a European Cup.
Sam Handy, Adidas’s vice president for design football, said, “We’ve drawn inspiration from Real Madrid’s long history of setting trends in the game of football to create something that allows fans and players to stand out.”
“This is a work made to support athletes on the biggest platform, first and foremost. However, this jersey was created with the goal of being as successful for the fans in the stands as it is for the players on the field by creating at the crossroads of legacy, identity, and expression.
Adidas has also said that their commitment to replace virgin polyester with recycled polyester in products wherever possible by the end of 2024 has been met early thanks to replica and on-field versions made entirely of recycled materials.
From August 10 through Real Madrid stores, Adidas stores, and online at Adidas Real Madrid kits, the new Real Madrid third uniform will be available.
