According to the Mail Online, Pavard is one of four players on the list to replace the England defender.

Since the beginning of the previous season’s winter transfer window, United has been considering the versatile defender.

And while the World Cup winner has one year left on his current contract, United may be able to sign him to a reasonable contract because he is rumored to be “keen” on departing.

According to reports, Edmond Tapsoba, Jean-Clair Todibo, and Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi are the other contenders named in Ten Hag’s notebook.

Tapsoba’s contract, which is set to expire in the summer of 2019, is another crucial factor that United must take into account.

But Bayer Leverkusen, his German team, won’t be willing to buy him cheaply.

Since moving to Nice for £8.5 million in 2021 from Barcelona, Todibo has flourished.

The centre-half, 23, has also attracted interest from Juventus this summer but the Italians were put off by his £35m price-tag.

Although that might appear inexpensive in comparison to Guehi, who would cost Palace more after winning four caps for England in the previous season.

Last year, Luke Shaw filled in here and there, but without Maguire, United are left with Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, and Victor Lindelof to man the center of defense.

The roster still includes Eric Bailly, who just made a comeback from his loan assignment at Marseille.

In addition, Jonny Evans, who signed a short-term contract to join the team during the preseason, is still there.

While the organization looks for a more youthful replacement, the 35-year-old veteran may continue to serve as an effective short-term solution.
