Chelsea schedule ‘new round of talks’ to sign 6 ft 2 ‘beast’ sponsored by Nike

The Juventus forward has received a lot of attention regarding a summer transfer to Stamford Bridge.

According to dependable writer Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea will hold a “new round of talks” to go over the prospect of acquiring Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Is Juventus losing Dusan Vlahovic?

Mauricio Pochettino has been made aware of the Serbian international’s situation despite the fact that he still has three years left on his contract at the Allianz Stadium. Last season, he emerged as Massimiliano Allegri’s top offensive performer, and his club may be forced to sell him due to Financial Fair Play issues.

Last month, author and transfer reporter Dean Jones provided an important update on the Stamford Bridge team’s pursuit of the 23-year-old in an interview with GiveMeSport. He stated:

“I am aware that some individuals are excluding Vlahovic because they claim that nothing is occurring there. However, Chelsea has undoubtedly looked at Vlahovic, and related conversations have undoubtedly taken place. They are tempted to go out and get another striker before this transfer window closes, as evidenced by the mere fact that they are even thinking about doing so.

Following that, Romano stated that Blues executives would consider the idea of signing the attacker “internally.” The discussions they had behind closed doors must have gone well, as it appears they are now considering a player-plus-cash switch that would see Vlahovic move to the Premier League and Romelu Lukaku return to the Serie A.

Do Chelsea intend to hire Dusan Vlahovic?

Romano stated on Twitter X that Chelsea and Juventus would hold further talks about a potential transfer for Vlahovic, and that his club is adamant about getting paid as part of the deal. He stated:

“Chelsea and Juventus have set up another round of negotiations to go through the Vlahovic and Lukaku trade. It will be done through middlemen. Juve insist on €40m [£34m] fee to be included but crucial point is Chelsea decision on Vlahovic — it’s up to Pochettino.”

What percentage of his goals have been assists?

In the Serie A last season, Vlahovic posted 12 goal contributions (ten goals and two assists) in 27 appearances so showed how prolific he can be, and if the forward was to sign on the dotted line in the final weeks of the window, it would be a massive coup for Pochettino.

The Belgrade native, who’s sponsored by Nike, also recorded a total of 65 shots over the course of the campaign which was more than any other of his fellow teammates, via FBRef, and this impressive form saw him receive three man-of-the-match awards.

Standing at 6 foot 2, Juventus’ “beast”, as dubbed by talent scout Jacek Kulig, could also prove to be an ideal replacement for Christopher Nkunku, who is set to be on the sidelines for 16 weeks as a result of undergoing surgery on a knee injury that he sustained in pre-season.

With Nicolas Jackson now needing a new strike partner – albeit Nkunku would have likely played a bit deeper – this is a deal that would make sense for both parties to complete.
