Manchester City have reportedly made a staggering £70 million proposal to West Ham for their Brazilian international midfielder Lucas Paqueta

Lucas Paqueta, a midfielder for West Ham who represents Brazil internationally, is the subject of an astounding £70 million offer from Manchester City, according to reports.

Even after spending the weekend spending £78 million on Josko Gvardiol and spending £25 million a few weeks ago on Mateo Kovacic, the Premier League champions are still looking to add new players this summer.

Riyad Mahrez’s decision to join Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia has forced Manchester City to hunt for new wide players, strengthen their options in the center of the field, or even turn players like Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden into regular right-wingers.

Several sources from within Europe and in Brazil have already revealed Manchester City’s interest in a player who is believed to have been under observation by Etihad bosses for a number of years. This has now led them to a new name in the Premier League.

Lucas Paqueta, a midfielder for West Ham and Brazil, has received a £70 million bid from Manchester City, as first reported by Marco Conterio of TuttoMercatoWeb and confirmed by Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte.

The news was confirmed shortly after talkSPORT revealed that Manchester City was interested in the 25-year-old central midfielder, despite the fact that it was made obvious that the Hammers would be unwilling to part with one of their most important players.

After speaking with West Ham this week, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has also revealed that Manchester City is now really interested in Lucas Paquetá. Although it won’t be an easy negotiation, City has added Paquetá to its list of summer targets.

The expectation and growing confidence remain that Manchester City will successfully sign a number of their current first-team stars to new and improved contracts in addition to the signing of new players over the course of the upcoming weeks.

Kyle Walker is believed to have decided to stay at Manchester City despite considerable attention from Bayern Munich over the past few weeks. Manchester City will also be hopeful that the England international full-back extends his contract beyond the current season.

Although the Portugal international has been considering moving for several seasons in a row, Bernardo Silva is also said to be seriously considering renewing his contract with Manchester City.

On Friday night, City’s brand-new 2023–24 Premier League campaign gets begin when Pep Guardiola and his team visit Burnley, a newly promoted team led by City great Vincent Kompany.
