HIGHTLIGHT: Mason Mount sheds light on a problem that exists at Man United

Because of Mason Mount’s recent play, public opinion is beginning to view Manchester United in an unfair light.

This summer, Manchester United’s Mason Mount has played in six different games for the club. It was quite close to Erik ten Hag including him in the starting line-up that he had set. This action taken by the Dutch military officer demonstrates that he has Mount’s best interests in mind.

His objectives do not include enjoying the luscious fruit. Mount is performing very poorly and was recently made fun of following an astonishing loss to Lens. This failure has led to Mount being a laughing stock. Fans of Manchester United are feeling tense as the new season is ready to begin, but they are concerned about Mount’s performance. If Mount continues to play like they did the last time, then Christian Eriksen will be treated unfairly.

The fact that Mount is forcing Eriksen to the bench is not hard to notice at all. The Red Devils competed in all four matches, winning one (against Arsenal) and losing three (against Wrexham), but this does not count the match in which they were embarrassed by their use of inexperienced players.

During the first three quarters of the game, Mount started at the beginning of each period while Eriksen remained on the bench. Before Dortmund and Bibao were the only two matches in which the former Tottenham Hotspur player began, but surrounding him were substitutes like as Donny van de Beek, Scott McTominay, Victor Lindelof, and Harry Maguire. As for Mount, he frequently gets the opportunity to work alongside the likes of pillars like as Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Raphael Varane, or Lisandro Martinez from the very beginning of their careers.

Prior to Lens, Eriksen had been observing the game while sitting outside. Because it was obvious that Ten Hag had a manner of grouping the starters and the substitutes together on the list, Eriksen had no choice but to accept the fact that Mount would be his first option.

It is unjust to Eriksen because he had a very good season of play the previous year. The ability of the star player who was born in 1992 to pass the ball and regulate his play contributes to the rhythmic development of Man United’s phases. Despite this, most people continue to fantasize about the possibility of a three-headed monster consisting of Bruno, Casemiro, and Mount during the following campaign.

By declaring his ambition to establish Mount as the main kicker alongside Bruno and Casemiro, Ten Hag is demonstrating how he can satisfy the needs of the fans. The most glaring illustration of this is how he organized his team for the most recent set of friendly matches. But Manchester United’s play has suffered because the team does not have a controlling passer like Christian Eriksen, who is able to smooth out the game and make it more enjoyable for everyone.

Bruno has the potential to be a great playmaker, but his play is less composed and more direct compared to what Eriksen brings to the table. Mount is full of energy and eager to join the battle next to Casemiro, but the English star is not a savvy enough midfielder for Manchester United to take control of the game.

As a direct consequence of this, Manchester United’s dream trifecta is playing off key, and Mount personally produces very poor results. The more unsatisfactory Mount is, the more public opinion is made aware of the unfairness that Eriksen is enduring as a result of it.

Even if Mount is a costly addition for Old Trafford this summer, Ten Hag might still think about making a change to his strategy.
