Steve Nicol, a former player, believes that there is still a significant difference in qualifications between Rasmus Hojlund and Darwin Nunez. It is highly likely that Rasmus Hojlund will become MU’s third rookie this summer, as the Red Devils have agreed to sign the 19-year-old Danish player from Atalanta for 72 million euros.

The Liverpool legend expressed his views:

“I don’t think Hojlund is near Nunez’s level at the moment. Hojlund for £75m, I don’t know why it’s so expensive.

I understand Liverpool spending £80m on Nunez in five thousand. It’s because of his strength, his ability and the way he runs from behind.

What’s missing from Nunez is the lightning in front of goal. But when it comes to choosing a position to score, Hojlund is unlikely to have done it.”

The Liverpool legend’s assessment is well-founded. Hojlund’s playing background remains somewhat limited. He has only recently completed a single season with Atalanta. Prior to that, the Danish player’s experience encompassed junior teams such as Copenhagen and Sturm Graz.
