Manchester United supporters have asked for a “refund” on Andre Onana, the club’s new goalkeeper.
At the Old Trafford friendly against Lens on Saturday, the goalkeeper received a lob from the halfway line.
Earlier this summer, Onana finished a £47 million transfer from Inter Milan to the Red Devils.
In his most recent appearance, he had a forgettable moment against the French team.
During the first half, Florian Sotoca correctly lobbed the Cameroonian who had strayed off his line.
The goalkeeper landed in the net as he sprinted back to try to save the ball, compounding Onana’s error.
After the goal, fans immediately criticized him on social media, with some even requesting a transfer refund.
The following tweet was posted by a supporter: “Can we get a refund on Onana and bring back De Gea.”
Someone else commented: “Lens just scored from about the halfway line thanks to Onana placement. Oops.”
Onana has been lobbed from the halfway line, said a third supporter. Guys, it’s just preseason; don’t worry.
David de Gea was replaced as a goalkeeper by Onana when he left the team.
The Spaniard’s 12-year tenure in England came to an end when his contract expired at the end of June.
Erik ten Hag previously collaborated with Onana at Ajax, when the Dutchman oversaw his 145 appearances.
