Antonela Roccuzzo, the wife of Argentina legend Lionel Messi, has provided an explanation for one of the most recent goal celebrations made by the player while playing for Inter Miami.
The latest goal celebration by her husband for Inter Miami was recounted by Lionel Messi’s wife.
Since joining Miami on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, Messi has had a fantastic start to life as a player. Since joining the team, the Argentine legend has scored five goals in three games.
His most recent goals came in the Round of 32 of the League Cup against Orlando City. Messi scored twice as Barcelona defeated their Florida rivals 3-1 to advance to the competition’s next round.
Messi crossed his arms over his chest in celebration after scoring his second goal of the game. And now on social media, his wife Antonela Roccuzzo has provided a justification for the celebration.
Roccuzzo shared a picture of Messi rejoicing in the aforementioned way on her Instagram story. She wrote “De Asgard a Wakanda” as the caption for the picture, which means “From Asgard to Wakanda.”
It alludes to the Marvel superhero movie series “Black Panther,” in which the late actor Chadwick Boseman—who passed away in August 2020—starred. The action that has come to be associated with the franchise is carried out by the main characters in both movies.
Messi’s celebration isn’t making headlines for the first time. After appearing to rejoice toward David Beckham back in July, there was a similar response.
Messi appeared to wave toward the club’s co-owner after scoring a goal in his second game for Miami. Messi joined his colleagues in celebration as Beckham watched from the sidelines, then extended a hand to the Manchester United star.
Messi scored twice as Miami defeated the opponent 4-0. His second goal for the team occurred in stoppage time of his debut against Cruz Azul, when he scored directly from a free kick to give his new team the victory.
Miami and Messi are now getting ready for their upcoming Leagues Cup encounter. The winner of the Round of 16 match against FC Dallas advances to the quarterfinals.
Messi won’t be making his Major League Soccer debut until August 21. There are still a few Leagues Cup games left to be played before that one, which is against Charlotte FC.
