UPDATE: Spending £50m, Man City ‘hijɑck’ Chelsea and Arsenal target to replace Riyad Mahrez

Michael Olise is interested in both Chelsea and Arsenal. But according to The Athletic, it is possible that Man City is the team that successfully recruited this player.

This summer, Manchester City are trying to improve their attack after the departure of Riyad Mahrez. The Algerian star joined Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli club for £30 million, leaving a big gap for The Citizens on the right wing.

According to The Athletic, Man City are looking for a replacement for Mahrez and have identified Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise as their main target. The English player, although only 21 years old, soon attracted the attention of many big teams in the foggy country after impressive performances last season. On the other hand, he is also interested because he is a genuine “homegrown” product.

It is known that despite loving Olise’s talent, the Etihad team will not pay more than £ 50 million for this morning star, the number Palace wants to collect if forced to sell the pillar.

Olise moved to Selhurst Park in 2021 and has made 71 appearances for the Eagles. The winger played an important role in Palace’s play last season, appearing in 37 matches. Olise started in the last 18 games of the season and provided 11 assists, the statistic second only to Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah and Leandro Trossard.

Recently, 90min revealed that Chelsea are “confident” that they will win the race for the signature of Olise, a player that Arsenal also intend to entice. However, with the arrival of Man City and the price of £ 50 million, everything could change.
