Lionel Messi continued his fiery confrontation in the tunnel with César Araújo, only to stop when teammates intervened

During the Leagues Cup game between Inter Miami and Orlando City, Lionel Messi and a rival player looked to get into a heated exchange. At halftime, Messi appeared to be speaking with an Orlando player as the two sides made their way down the tunnel.

They appeared to be becoming fairly hot, but their comrades eventually separated them.

It demonstrated that Messi, who is now 36 years old, is still a force to be reckoned with and possesses the same passion for the game that helped him become probably the best footballer to ever play.

Messi’s own goal in the sixth minute and Cesar Araujo’s goal to tie the score in the first half brought the score to 1-1.

And just as things were about to get heated, Messi bulldozed over Araujo while battling for control.

After the ball was released, Araujo pursued the World Cup winner and applied a late tackle to him as though in retaliation.

After the incident, Messi waved in the referee’s face and demanded that he brandish a yellow card for the challenge.

The events from the tunnel as the two teams made their way back to their dressing rooms have now been captured on film, and they were, to put it mildly, ugly.

Messi and Araujo can be seen talking to one other in the video as their teammates encircle them.

Whatever was said seemed to be rather angry, even though neither participant attempted to make the argument physical.

Fans praised the little Argentinian’s enthusiasm as the video went viral on social media.

The following tweet was made: “MESSI IS ABSOLUTELY ON SMOKE TIME.”

Another person chimed in, saying, “We are witnessing Netherlands Messi.”

Third supporter: “Messi is totally hooked in. This is crazy.

Someone else added, saying, “Messi treating this like a World Cup final, I needed this.”

According to Guinness World Records, Messi’s previous goal in the match, a well-placed volley, made him the player with the most combined goals and assists in football history.
