Ousmane Dembélé might soon be a member of the Paris Saint-Germain team. The 26-year-old’s arrival is being pushed for by the capital club. The Frenchman’s wish to quit was also confirmed by manager Xavi Hernandez.
FC Barcelona defeated AC Milan 1-0 to complete their summer tour of the United States. After the game, Xavi stated Dembélé’s absence from the friendly was due to his request to leave the Spanish powerhouses.
“Dembélé has asked us to leave, he has a proposal from PSG, and that’s why he didn’t play,” Xavi stated to Esport3. “It’s a shame. To me, it tastes terrible. Dembélé had been well taken care of by us. We are unable to match PSG’s bid.
“I attempted to persuade Dembélé to remain, but he informed me that he spoke to Luis Enrique and [Nasser] Al-Khelaifi and that there was no way to persuade him. It’s final and he made it on his own.
The Barcelona star is most likely seen by the Ligue 1 winners as Kylian Mbappé’s replacement because he is leaving PSG. The 24-year-old’s time in the French capital is over, whether it’s during the current summer transfer window or when he becomes a free agent in 2019.
Last but not least, the French giants want the winger to go to Paris to complete the required medical exams and arrange for payment. PSG prefers to make payments over time, but they are also open to making a single payment to end the controversy.
