Fabio Carvalho has revealed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp did not consult with him before sending him on loan to RB Leipzig.
Carvalho is eager to make an impression at the German club and believes it is important for him to learn things on his own.
‘I don’t really talk to him, so he didn’t give me any advice,’ Carvalho told The Athletic.
‘I have to learn as I go, which I don’t think is a bad thing,’ he says. ‘I think it’s better for me to progress as a person and as a player that way.’
Dominik Szoboszlai joined Liverpool in late June, shortly after Carvalho left for RB Leipzig.
Carvalho, who joined Liverpool from Fulham last year, appeared in 21 games and scored three goals in his debut year.
Carvalho scored a spectacular late winner at Anfield against Newcastle.
The young Portugal Under-21 international can also play out wide, and his versatility could be crucial for Leipzig this season.
This summer, Leipzig signed Lois Openda, Benjamin Sesko, Christoph Baumgartner, Nicolas Seiwald, and El Chadille Bitshiabu, as well as Xavi Simons on loan from PSG.
Carvalho made four Champions League games last season and the 20-year-old is expected to participate in the league again this season with Leipzig.
