Before making their next transfer approach for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, Manchester United initiated negotiations with Real Sociedad yesterday to sell Donny van de Beek. Galatasaray has also raised their offer for Fred.
Brandon Williams, a fullback who has had few opportunities in Manchester, is also attracting interest from Leeds United.
After the £72 million purchase of Rasmus Hojlund, Erik ten Hag won’t have much of his summer transfer budget remaining. He will thus need to generate money through player sales in order to pursue Amrabat, who is valued at £30 million.
The Moroccan international has expressed skepticism about the move, telling news agency ANSA on Tuesday: “I don’t know, I could remain.”
Old Trafford has determined that Van de Beek is no longer needed there, and the Red Devils are willing to sell him for about £25 million.
Last season, the Dutchman struggled with injuries and was only able to make 7 Premier League appearances.
Despite having reservations about the player’s history of injuries, Sociedad has elected to approach United about a potential deal.
Galatasaray is also interested in hiring free agent midfielder Fred.
Last month, United rejected an undisclosed bid from the Turkish club.
In the upcoming days, they are anticipated to return with an enhanced offer as Leeds mulls over a Williams move.
