Legendary football player Lionel Messi of Argentina and Barcelona has listed his top ten “favorite” teammates from his entire career.
Messi began his professional career at Barcelona, where he amassed an incredible 672 goals in 778 games and cemented his status as one of the best players in football history.
The attacker then spent two years with PSG, where he finally won the one honor that had eluded him up until that point—the World Cup.
Alongside Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, Messi is now playing for Inter Miami and starting a new MLS chapter.
In a recent interview with Titan Sports, he listed his favorite teammates from throughout his football career, and they are a veritable who’s who of football greats.
Lionel Messi lists his top 10 teammates.
Ronaldinho, who invented a number of well-known skill moves and was, of course, one of Barcelona’s top players in the middle of the 2000s, was the first person Messi mentioned.
He continued by naming a number of other Barca legends, such as Xavi, Andres Iniesta, and Samuel Eto’o, all of whom played for Les Cules at the same time as the Argentine.
According to Messi (via Daily Mirror): “Like [Luis] Suarez, [Ronaldinho], Deco, Eto’o, Xavi, Iniesta, and Busquets.
“I had the good fortune to participate in the game and have fun with the top players. Speaking of which, there are so many individuals that I almost forgot about Neymar.
Messi added two more players to the roster after the initial eight choices.
There must be a lot of players I overlooked, he said.
“I’ve had the good fortune to play with the best players and strikers. such as David Villa, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eto’o, Neymar, and Suarez, among many more.
Because I’ve had the good fortune to play with the finest of them, I’ve felt at ease playing with all of them, or virtually all of them.
Messi will now attempt to lead Inter Miami up the MLS Eastern Conference standings by forming some solid alliances with the team’s players.
The 36-year-old has scored three goals and provided an assist in two League Cup games for his new squad, but they now have the worst record in the Eastern Conference and the entire MLS in 2023.
