Lionel Messi has been spotted considering Boca Raton houses since his historic move to Inter Miami.
His wife Antonella Roccuzzo was with him, as well as their eldest child Thiago, who was wearing an Inter Miami jersey with his father’s name on it.
The 36-year-old Messi made his debut earlier this month and scored a last-second winner to formally announce his move to the United States.
On his second appearance, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, who is now Inter Miami’s captain, followed it up with two goals and an assist.
Furthermore, Messi seems to be enjoying himself off the field as well. DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale is only 25 minutes away, but it’s over an hour north of Miami, so he and Antonella were grinning as they inspected a luxurious property in Boca Raton.
Messi was shown the house, which appeared to have a golf putting green. Messi was seen receiving even a basic explanation of how to play the club from someone.
Messi and Antonela’s three children are Thiago (10 years old), Mateo (7 years old), and Ciro (5 years old). In 2017, the couple got married.
The family would own more South Florida properties. They already own a luxurious $9 million property with a view of Sunny Isles Beach and Miami.
According to reports, the World Cup champion bought the flat at the Porsche Design Tower in 2019.
Bal Harbour and Aventura are both halfway up the 60-floor tower, which can be reached from Inter Miami’s DRV PNK Stadium in about 25 minutes.
The apartment includes a private dining room, an outside cafe by the water, a theater, and simulators for racing and golf.
Messi committed to a two-and-a-half-year deal with Inter Miami, and it’s expected that he’ll earn $50–60 million a year during that time.
The Argentine international has already accompanied Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, two former Barcelona players, to South Beach.
Even if talks between Inter Miami and Luis Suarez’s current team, Gremio, fell through, the Uruguayan athlete stated that he and Lionel Messi still “dream of retiring together.”
The MLS team wanted to get Suarez back with Messi and company. However, negotiations for an agreement have since broken down.
On the Uruguayan television show Punto Penal, Suarez stated, “With Messi, we dream of retiring together.”
That was something we had always intended to accomplish while in Barcelona. From one year to the next, I relocated to Atletico Madrid, while he did so to Paris Saint-Germain.
“After Barcelona, we discussed and fantasized about visiting the States, but nothing ever happened at the time.”
“Now that he’s made the decision to go there, and as you can see, he appears to be happy, we hope that possibility will at some point materialize.”
