Injuries have been a problem for Real Madrid over the previous several seasons. They persisted throughout the 2022–23 season, and the team has not benefited from their lack of depth in a number of positions all over the field. Although the beginning has not been wonderful, one would hope that things would get better this time.
Ferland Mendy, a left-back for Real Madrid, is one player that has a history of injuries. The Frenchman has been out of action for a substantial portion of the time since he arrived, and he will undoubtedly be out again.
Mendy reportedly injured his hamstring during the preseason match against FC Barcelona, according to Onda Cero (via Managing Madrid). It appears to prevent him from working for about a month.
Mendy has endured a number of injuries since joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2019. Due to that, the Frenchman ended up missing a lot of games and was sidelined for an extended period of time. And given the uncertainty around his future already, this was the last thing he needed.
Real Madrid defender set to be out for around a month with injury
Mendy is now experiencing a difficult time on the field, and this most recent injury is the latest setback for him. Injuries have plagued the defender during his tenure at Real Madrid and have also affected his position on the club.
It is obvious that Mendy’s contribution to the squad has diminished, and with the addition of Fran Garcia, he appears to have fallen in the standings. The Frenchman’s most recent injury won’t help him in that aspect.
Some feel that Mendy should be transferred this summer so the team can move forward. But given that he will likely be sidelined due to injury, that might be challenging.
