Real Madrid has some good news as attacker Rodrygo Goes is back in team practice as they attempt to bounce back from their preseason loss to Barcelona.
In fact, the 22-year-old gifted attacker has resumed regular training with the rest of the team today as they get ready for the last preseason game against Juventus, according to Mario Cortegana of The Athletic.
Along with Ferland Mendy, Rodrygo missed the Sunday training sessions for Real Madrid.
The Frenchman, who is dealing with yet another physical setback, is predicted to be sidelined for at least a month.
But Rodrygo has returned to training and is already participating in sessions with the rest of the team, so Los Blancos have had some luck in that regard.
Rodrygo’s talent and quality were never in question, but so far in his tenure at Real Madrid, they have been overshadowed by Vinicius Jr. and Karim Benzema.
The 22-year-old is poised for a great season ahead and will play a far more crucial part for Carlo Ancelotti’s side now that the Frenchman is no longer with the team.
In 2022–2023, Rodrygo had his best season to date, finishing with 57 appearances across all competitions and a total of 19 goals and 11 assists.
The Brazilian international had to fill in as a center forward on multiple occasions during the 2017–2018 campaign when Benzema was injured or taking a break.
As the only recognized striker for Real Madrid going forward in the next season, Rodrygo will probably need to play in a central position much more regularly.
Therefore, the 22-year-old’s return to training after skipping yesterday’s session is encouraging because he has to be well-prepared for the obstacles that the upcoming campaign will present.
Real Madrid’s preseason trip of the United States will come to a close with a friendly match against Juventus on Wednesday night.
