On Monday night against Monastir, Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal of the year to give Al-Nassr their first competitive victory of the new season.
After a lackluster preseason, Al-Nassr were held to a scoreless draw in their opening Arab Club Champions Cup game on Friday.
And they were headed for yet another lackluster draw when Ronaldo made a comeback in the 74th minute against Monastir of Tunisia to make it 2-1.
At the back post, Ronaldo connected with a beautiful cross from the right and gave the goalkeeper no chance.
As they began their new season, the Saudi Arabian team gained two more in the closing phases.
When Monastir lost the ball away on the outskirts of their area earlier in the game, Ronaldo had a wonderful opportunity to score.
After going without a goal in the preseason and failing to score during the match against Al-Shabab on Friday, he had been experiencing something of a goal drought.
