Benzema’s outstanding performance has led Al Ittihad into the quarterfinals with his second victory

Karim Benzema’s goal on Sunday helped Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad advance to the quarterfinals of the King Salman Club Cup.

Al Ittihad faced Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in one of the cup’s tournaments.

In the 63rd minute of the second half, Benzema scored to lead the defeat against the Tunisian club. The game ended 1-0, with Al Ittihad advancing in the competition.

The triumph on Sunday comes after the former Real Madrid player delivered an outstanding performance in his club debut on Thursday. Al Ittihad defeated Espérance Sportive de Tunis 2-1, with Benzema assisting on one goal and the new Al Ittihad player scoring the other.

Benzema officially signed a three-year contract with Al Ittihad in June. He is one of numerous high-profile footballers who have recently joined Saudi Arabian clubs, including Cristiano Ronaldo, who signed with Al Nassr.
