Ousmane Dembele’s next destination will be PSG after a long unclear saga and great anxiety at the Barcelona offices.
According to the dependable Fabrizio Romano, the 26-year-old midfielder has decided to join PSG on a 5-year contract until 2028, and the French club has already informed Barcelona.
According to Gerard Romero, Mousa Sissoko, Dembele’s agent, has already called La Liga and informed them that PSG would activate the player’s €50 million release clause, with him pocketing €25 million.
His decision is financially comprehensible because if he decides to stay beyond tomorrow, a fresh release clause of €100m will take effect, with Barcelona holding 100% of the amount if it is invoked.
Furthermore, the Frenchman had asked for a €6 million contract increase, which the Catalan club had also refused.
Dembele notifies teammates of the change.Dembele has already called some of his teammates to inform them that he is leaving PSG, according to COPE journalist Helene Condis.
The news that he is departing has been described as very sad’ in the locker room, as the French winger was clearly one of Barcelona’s important components — especially considering how hard Xavi worked on his development.
Romero also claims that Barcelona is about to launch a football war against PSG.
The club will approach UEFA and demand that PSG comply with FFP requirements, as well as demonstrate the source of the French club’s economic power.
Barcelona may sign right now.Barcelona has been trying to acquire new players for several weeks, but the high wage bill, along with La Liga regulations, has been an impediment.
However, the club can now concentrate on reinforcements, with a right-back being the first priority.
Plan A is Joo Cancelo, with Iván Fresneda as a backup.
Which players Barcelona will sign is difficult to predict at this point, as there will almost certainly be more departures following Dembele’s departure.
Abde is expected to stay after Dembele leaves.Despite the fact that one of Dembele’s back-ups, 21-year-old Ez Abde, had already made a verbal deal with Real Betis, it is doubtful that Barcelona would allow him go after the Frenchman’s departure.
A transfer offer of at least €30 million might change the picture, as the Catalan club is still in financial trouble and could use finances for new transfers, but whether the Moroccan will receive such an offer is unknown.
The teenager, on the other hand, only wants to stay provided the club believes in him and gives him opportunities to play frequently – understandable given that he will be battling for a slot with Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati, Gavi, and Raphinha.
