Eden Hazard can retire at the age of 32 after leaving Real Madrid and being rejected by Inter Miami

Following his departure from Real Madrid, Eden Hazard is considering retirement at the age of 32.

Hazard, who joined Real Madrid in a big-money transfer from Chelsea in 2019, left by mutual consent in June when his contract ended a year early. The Belgian struggled to make an impact at the Santiago Bernabeu, with a string of injuries hampering his time in Spain.

Hazard’s departure occurred after he stated that he and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti were no longer conversing. “There is respect between us,” he remarked in a March interview with RTBF.

“However, I’m not going to state that we talk to one other because we don’t. However, there will always be respect. Even if he doesn’t force me to play tomorrow, I have to respect a man like Carlo Ancelotti.

“In terms of what he represents for football and what he has accomplished in his career.” No worries. He forced me to play three months ago. I have some reservations. It’s up to me to demonstrate to him in training that he can rely on me. In his opinion, I probably deserve less than others. You should inquire about him.”

Hazard has been linked with a number of teams since leaving Real Madrid, including David Beckham’s MLS side Inter Miami, Racing White Daring de Molenbeek in Belgium, where his younger brother Kylian plays, and Saudi Arabia.

However, nothing has come of it, with Belgian newspaper Voetbalkrant reporting that Hazard turned down a ‘concrete offer’ to join Lionel Messi at Inter Miami. Hazard may retire entirely, according to the Spanish source AS.

According to the source, the forward’s retirement is starting to gather strength’ because his injury issues have taken their toll and both he and his family are settled in Madrid and do not want to leave.

As a result, it is speculated that Hazard may decide to hang up his boots at the age of 32. He previously announced his retirement from international football last year, following the 2022 World Cup.

“A page turns today,” he stated in a social media post following Belgium’s group stage exit. “Thank you for your love [and] unrivaled support.”
