ARSENAL have been told to sign Neymar by Julio Baptista as he would “complete” the team.
The former Arsenal loanee reckons the Brazil star needs a “new atmosphere” after becoming “comfortable” at PSG
Julio Baptista has claimed that Arsenal should sign Neymar
He thinks the Brazilian would be ‘key’ for the Gunners
Neymar, 31, is one of the players that the Ligue 1 club are believed to be willing to cash in on this summer.
And Baptista believes that the Gunners should make a move for the Brazilian.
He told Goal: “I think Neymar is comfortable at PSG, but maybe the best move for him is to create a new atmosphere at a new club – maybe a club that supports him and gives him all the confidence that he needs. He doesn’t have that at PSG.
“The fans don’t like him a lot and maybe it is time to move on and try something different.
“Why not? Arsenal is one of the best clubs in Europe. We know that the last eight or so years, Arsenal have not produced their best or been as competitive.
“But now, with Arteta, Arsenal have something different. They have started to construct something powerful. Why not? Maybe this could be the key.
“In Brazil we say that you have the house, you have everything, and you just need the key to open it.
“Maybe Neymar is the key to open and complete everything at Arsenal. He is an incredible player.”
Should Neymar make the move to the Emirates, he would be greeted by some familiar faces such as Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes, who he knows from the Brazil squad.
The Brazilian would offer manager Mikel Arteta another attacking option across the frontline.
This summer, he has also been connected to moves to Chelsea, Saudi Arabia, and a return to Barcelona.
According to reports, Neymar could make £172 million annually if he moved to Saudi Arabia, where Al-Hilal is rumored to be preparing a £38 million offer for the Brazilian.
Due to the attacker’s season salary of £22 million, PSG is rumored to be interested in the possibility of selling him.
Neymar’s transfer would allay the French club’s concerns over Financial Fair Play rules.
Additionally, it would reduce tensions with the fan support because Messi’s and his home were both targeted by ultras in May.ase as his house – along with Messi’s – was targeted by ultras in May.
