‘Going home’ – Inter Miami is expected to play a friendly match against FC Barcelona at the Nou Camp to ‘pay tribute’ to Lionel Messi and he can say goodbye to the team that left last year in 2021

Lionel Messi wants to play in a friendly game against Barcelona as a “proper farewell” to the team he previously played for, thus Inter Miami is interested in setting up the event.

Messi played for Barcelona for 17 years, from 2004 to 2021, making over 700 appearances for the team, scoring over 650 goals, and collecting numerous awards. Messi stepped down in 2021.

The 36-year-old attacker won 10 LaLiga championships, four Champions Leagues, and seven Copa del Reys while playing with Barcelona. Additionally, while he was a member of Barcelona, he received six of his seven Ballon d’Or titles.

But when he left the club two years ago, he was overcome with emotion as he bid farewell. Due to monetary issues that had nothing to do with the playing field, the club was no longer able to pay his salary.

Jorge Mas, owner of Inter Miami, has, nevertheless, expressed a desire to make amends with his new star’s old self in order to bid his old friend a proper farewell. MLS Soccer received this request.

Jorge Mas, the owner of Inter Miami, has stated his desire to set up a match between Inter Miami and Barcelona.

He wants to offer Lionel Messi, who recently signed with Miami, the chance to say “proper goodbye” to Barcelona.

Messi broke down in tears after it was revealed that he would be leaving Barcelona in 2021 owing to the team’s financial troubles.

I’m hoping Lionel Messi will be able to properly say his farewell. Mas said, “Yes, he does deserve his appropriate farewell there.

Because he deserves it, she stated, “I will do everything in my power to facilitate and help him do that.” I’ll do everything in my ability to make it possible for him to achieve that.

The match must be postponed until the field’s construction is finished if it is to be held in the Nou Camp. This is due to Barcelona having home matches at the Olympic Stadium starting in the following season.

Messi departed Barcelona and played for Paris Saint-Germain in France for the following two years. However, he was never able to settle there and left earlier this year.

He was widely linked to a return to Barcelona as well as a move to the Saudi Pro League, but he ultimately chose to join Miami in the United States. He might also end up playing in the Saudi Pro League.

When he left PSG earlier in this transfer window, rumors of him going back to Barcelona, where he had 17 years of success, abounded.

Instead, he chose to join Inter Miami, where he has already scored three goals in two games.

During the discussions, Messi’s father and agent Jorge Messi acknowledged that he would have preferred if his son had returned to Spain.

Leo wants to go back to Barcelona, and I would love to see him there, the man stated. “Barca move is definitely a possibility.”

But he eventually made it to North America and, after two so far brilliant outings, continues to thrill Inter supporters.

Prior to scoring a brace against Atlanta in his second game to help his team defeat Atlanta 4-0, Messi scored a spectacular late free kick against Cruz Azul in his debut to give his team a 2-1 victory.
