Lionel Messi surprisҽd all of his new Inter Miami colleagues with a wonderful welcome gift upon his arrival.
Messi looks entirely at ease with his new club after leaving Paris Saint-Germain after a two-year spell. He has three goals in his first two games.
He knows Sergio Busquets inside and out from their time together at Barcelona, but he already appears to be best friends with Venezuelan attacker Josef Martinez, who appeared to lift up a seat so the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner could have a better view on the bench against Cruz Azul.
Messi came off the bench to score a magnificent free-kick winner in the 94th minute, and in his first start, he built a unique rapport with Finland international Robert Taylor.
In the 4-0 thumping of Atlanta United, the two cooperated to devastating effect by assisting one another. Messi showed his humility early on when he dedicated the Cruz Azul victory to teenager Ian Fray, who had suffered yet another ACL iпjury.
And, despite being possibly the greatest of all time, he made a fantastic gesture. Messi presented each participant with a brand new pair of ‘Beats by Dre’ headphones during his first appearance.
They were all pink in honor of Inter Miami’s colors, and former Newcastle and DeAndre Yedlin were seen wearing them in a post-match interview, where he rҽvealed everything.
“You’ll have to ask Messi,” he explained. Messi secured them for the squad. I’m not sure if he bought them, but for his first game, he gave everyone headphones.”
Yedlin earlier revҽaled that Messi handed complimentary tickets to teammate Leonardo Campana for his special unveiling, appearing in the WhatsApp chat to make the wonderful gift.
Following Argentina’s first World Cup victory in 36 years, Messi spent £175,000 on 35 gold 24-carat iPhones for players and staff.
Each phone was custom-made, with each player’s name and number, as well as the Argentina crest.
