Report: Man Utd anticipates reaching a deal to capture a star for £68.5 million

During the current transfer window, Rasmus Hojlund has become one of the most sought-after strikers, but Manchester United is reportedly confident that it can outbid other teams for the Atalanta player.

The 20-year-old Dane has been a target for United all summer because of his six goals in six Euro qualifying games.

The Red Devils and Hojlund have already agreed upon personal terms, and the two parties are currently in talks to reduce the Serie A team’s asking price, which is reportedly set at 80 million euros (£68.5 million).

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the forthcoming weekend will be crucial since United anticipates reaching a discounted agreement for 70 million (£60 million) plus bonuses. In the upcoming days, all sides aim to finalize the agreement.

Paris Saint-Germain, who are seeking to replace their talisman Kylian Mbappe, have however joined the hunt for his services. If the French powerhouses choose to accede to Atalanta’s demands rather than stalling negotiations in the hopes of receiving a discount, things might get complicated for United.

The Italian journalist continues by saying that Hojlund has received a better wage offer from Les Parisiens than from United. The 6’3″ foot quick forward is favoring a move to Old Trafford above any other location, which is fortunate for the English team.

Erik ten Hag has made finding a new goal scorer a priority during this transfer window, and he reaffirmed his desire after his team’s failure to score against Real Madrid in their 2-0 loss early on Thursday.

At the NRG Stadium, players like Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes generated a ton of chances, but the forward line fell short of putting Real’s goalie, Andriy Lunin, to the test.
