Karima Benzema scored in his debut for Al-Ittihad in their Arab Club Champions Cup victory over ES Tunis.
The 35-year-old striker signed a three-year contract with the Saudi Pro League champions last month after leaving Real Madrid.
After Cristiano Ronaldo, he was the second big-name player to come to the Middle Eastern country, with a slew of other European players following suit subsequently.
Al-Ittihad supporters saw Benzema for the first time when he began against Tunis, alongside Jota, who signed from Celtic.
When the Frenchman cut in from the left and fired a curler from the edge of the box that reached the top corner, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were poised 1-1.
Tunis took the lead in the 26th minute thanks to Ousemma Bouguerra’s thundering volley.
Six minutes later, though, Abderrazak Hamdallah equalized with a close-range header from a cross by Benzema, who went on to score the winning goal.
N’Golo Kante also came off the bench to mark his debut for the club after joining from Chelsea on a free transfer.
Al-Ittihad has won the Arab Club Champions Cup once in their history, in 2004-05, and will be hoping to add to it this year.
They will take on Tunisian side CS Sfaxien on Sunday in their second match of the competition.
