Former Real Madrid star Isco has signed with Real Betis after eight months as a free agent.
Isco, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or a winger, has been without a club since leaving Sevilla in December 2022.
He nearly joined Union Berlin in the January transfer window but the deal fell through at the end of the year.
Real Betis used a Game of Thrones-style video to announce the signing of Isco.
They captioned the post: ‘I pledge my life and honor to a Real Betis Balompié watch, for tonight and all nights to come.’
The La Liga club used a scene from the HBO series showing the character Jon Snow being resurrected after being killed.
Real Betis used Isco in Snow’s role in their announcement, perhaps highlighting his fresh start after four miserable months with their rivals Sevilla.
While at Real Madrid, he made 353 appearances and scored 53 goals, while also providing 57 assists.
Isco has won the Champions League five times with Real Madrid, three La Liga, and Copa Del Rey titles.
During his time at Sevilla, Isco made just 19 appearances as he struggled to make the impact expected of him.
Real Betis, who finished sixth in La Liga last season, have also signed Ayoze Perez, Hector Bellerin, and Marc Bartra, while Marc Roca joined from Leeds on loan and Chadi Riad from Barcelona. on loan.
