Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, has provided an update on Kobbie Mainoo, who suffered a freak ankle iпjury against Real Madrid.
The kid has been a standout for the Red Devils in preseason, most recently in a 2-0 win over Arsenal in New Jersey.
As a result, the 18-year-old was put opposite Casemiro in the starting XI against Real Madrid, but he was hurt in the second minute.
Casemiro’s clinical foul on Rodrigo caused him to fall into Mainoo’s ankle. United’s medical team assisted the club graduate off the field.
Ten Hag stated after the game that he had no information on the degree of the iпjury, but that a proper examination will be made very soon.
The Dutchman expressed hope that the iпjury was not significant and stated that he was eager to see Mainoo’s performance.
“I understand the question,” he told Manutd.com. But it’s impossible to determine after a game. We must wait and see what it is. So, perhaps, it won’t be too horrible, and then opportunities will present themselves. “I was curious to see what levels he could play.”
“We were pleased with his performance against Arsenal.” I waпted to see whether he could do it again a few days later, and then we’d have conclusions. We must first wait for the diagnosis before reaching any conclusions.”
The 18-year-old was noticeably upset after missing out on an opportunity to shine against Real Madrid.
He was seen exiting the stadium with a protective boot on his left foot after the game. Hopefully, nothing catastrophic has happened and he will be able to return quickly.
Amad Diallo recently hurt his ankle against Arsenal, although he was on the bench for the game against Real Madrid.
Rodrygo made touch with Mainoo, but the fans are hoping that the child will recover quickly. He’s been fascinating to watch.
On present form, he is a strong possibility to start the Premier League opener. We should know more about the midfielder’s iпjury situation soon.
