Andre Onana’s future in goal is bright, but Casemiro, Marcus Rashford, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka had a tough night as Erik ten Hag’s team is defeated by Real Madrid in Houston

The impressive Real Madrid team defeated Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United team 2-0, handing them their second loss in as many days.

Jude Bellingham, a star player for England, gave the Spanish giants the lead early with a lovely chip, and Joselu, a former Stoke City player, completed the triumph in Houston with an incredible overhead kick.

Jadon Sancho, who came on and battled off the bench, and Marcus Rashford, who was leading the line, had a difficult night as United labored in the final third.

In spite of the two goals he allowed on his United debut, Andre Onana demonstrated that he still has plenty of energy as Ten Hag’s new starting goalie.

Chris Wheeler of Mail Sport was present to evaluate the United players.

ADRE ONANA 6.5 – Beaten by Bellingham less than six minutes into his debut and having no opportunity to stop Joselu’s second, but still did more than enough with the ball in his possession to demonstrate what he will bring to United.

5.5 AARON WAN-BISSAKA – had his hands full with Real’s speed and Bellingham’s threat down the left, and at one point in the first half, Vinicius Junior bamboozled him.

R. PHILIP VARANE Despite the fact that Real Madrid’s new £115 million acquisition appeared to be simply offside, player 6 stepped up to try and play Bellingham offside and was unsuccessful.

A second indiscreet challenge, this time on Bellingham before halftime, earns LISANDRO MARTINEZ 6 minutes from the game. Epitomes Ten Hag asserts that no allies exist.

LUKE SHAW 6.5 – Solid offensive performance before being one of nine United players changed shortly after the hour mark. Good battle with Luka Modric.

CASEMIRO 5.5 – Needs time to come back up to speed after making his preseason debut for United against his former team.

KOBBIE MAINOO 5 – Teenager was given the go-ahead to start once again but was hurt after two minutes and had to leave the game.

FERNANDES, BRUNO 6.5 – Played on the right to make room for new acquisition Mount, then switched to the No. 10 position in the second half. forced goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to make a quick, close-range save.

Played at No. 10, came close to tying the score from closer range, and may have made the game’s best tackle when he recovered to attack Tchouameni. MASON MOUNT 7.

ALEJANDRO GARNACHO 7 – On his first preseason start, he appeared energized and wasn’t hesitant to shoot on sight a few times.

5.5 MARCUS RASHFORD – Rashford is still working his way through the gears and found it difficult to make an impact here, similar to the majority of United’s foreign players who resumed training a little later.
