Aurelien Tchouameni, a midfielder for Real Madrid, is allegedly a target for Liverpool this summer. The Frenchman has previously been a target for Liverpool, who made a bid for him last summer. Tchouameni opted to pay €100 million to join Real Madrid, nevertheless.

 

Currently, it appears that Liverpool has rekindled its interest in the 23-year-old midfielder. The club has offered €55 million for Tchouameni, but that amount is less than what Real Madrid is willing to pay, which is €80 million. Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are both scheduled to leave Liverpool this summer for the Saudi Pro League, but Liverpool is still committed to signing the midfielder despite the huge outlay.

Tchouameni, who ranks in the top 1% of his positional peers across the top five European leagues for pass completion and interceptions, is one of the most exciting young talents in Europe. A solid midfielder, he also ranks in the top 11% for won aerial duels and clearances.

Together with Alexis Mac Allister, who recently joined Liverpool, the Frenchman may make a powerful pairing. Since Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo bonded well while playing for Brighton & Hove Albion and Tchouameni’s playing style complements Caicedo’s well, it stands to reason that Mac Allister may succeed alongside the French international.

Given that they have already invested more than £95 million on new signings, Liverpool would be making a substantial commitment by buying Tchouameni. Tchouameni is a vital acquisition to the team, though, since the likely departures of Fabinho and Henderson present options for midfield reinforcements.

Tchouameni has been hailed as a “ridiculous talent,” and if Liverpool is successful in striking a deal with Real Madrid before the upcoming season, it will have completely rebuilt its midfield. The French midfielder is a potential prospect for Liverpool’s midfield because his skill set is superior to Henderson’s in a number of crucial areas.
