Messi put Miami up 1-0 against MLS side Atlanta United in League Cup competition on Tuesday, his second goal in as many games.
Messi’s former Barcelona teammate Sergio Busquets, who also made his debut, assisted La Pulga with a stunning lob through ball. Messi’s initial shot ɦit the right post, but he was first to the rebound and tapped it in.
Messi, on the other hand, did not stop scoring after that.
Messi carried the ball up in transition before finding Robert Taylor on the left flank in the 22nd minute. Taylor just managed to send in a cross with his left foot that flew past striker Josef Martinez and right to Messi for a simple finish.
Messi is simply GOAT-level stuff as Miami begins its campaign in the new Leagues Cup group round.
