‘No choice’: Scott McTominay out due to ‘crazy transfer offer’ from West Ham

The Scotland star is coveted by the Hammers, but United might be hesitant to let him go.

West Ham and Manchester United have discussed the possibility of moving Scott McTominay.

The Scotland favorite has been identified by the Irons as someone who can fill the vacuum left by Declan Rice’s record-breaking transfer to Arsenal. Although he isn’t a lock to start for the Red Devils, a move to East London might provide him the opportunity to play more frequently.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of West Ham, still values the midfielder and sees him as an important player of the team, so it might take a sizable offer to convince him to let him go, especially because United is aware that West Ham will have extra money after selling Rice.

McTominay has been linked with a move to the Hammers for several weeks, but Sky Sports is now claiming that the two teams have had preliminary talks.

The 26-year-old and his international teammate Kieran Tierney were previously linked to Newcastle, but that interest seems to have subsided.

McTominay would team up with fellow Scot Davie Moyes at West Ham if he moved there. Moyes kept his job despite a dismal domestic season thanks to his victory in the Europa Conference League.

The Manchester United player has long been a favorite of the Tartan Army, in part because of his refusal to play for England, but recently, after scoring four goals in victories against Cyprus and Spain, he catapulted to even greater prominence.
