Brazilian forward Neymar has returned to the gym with Paris Saint-Germain, but Portugal’s Nuno Mendes has torn his right hamstring, according to the French champions.
Mendes, 21, picked up a new hamstring iпjury in the summer, not during training, PSG announced, adding that he “will continue to receive treatment for the next few weeks.” Mendes suffered his first thigh iпjury in May.
Neymar, 31, returned to the team after surgery on his right ankle in early March.
According to PSG, Neymar is expected to take part in some group training sessions this week after taking part in individual training sessions on the pitch last week. The players underwent physical and medical checks before training in groups on Tuesday at the PSG Campus in Poissy, a western suburb of Paris.
Italian midfielder Cher Ndour, who won the European Under-19 Championship on Sunday, is resting, while France’s 2018 World Cup champion and Achilles tendon iпjury sufferer Presnel Kimpembe is still recovering and is expected to return in early August.
