Liverpool avoided a humiliating preseason defeat to Greuther Furth of the Bundesliga’s second tier in Germany thanks to Mohammed Salah’s goal in the 89th minute.
Dawin Nunez scored the game-winning goal for Egypt after a breakaway down the left flank and a superb pass.
Despite their offensive prowess, Jurgen Klopp’s squad surrendered their initial two-goal lead due to a lack of defensive control and reckless defending.

Luis Diaz scored in spectacular fashion midway through the first half, but Furth tied two minutes later on Julian Green’s equalizer.
Jurgen Klopp made 11 substitutions at halftime, and Liverpool should have been in command after Darwin Nunez’s quick-fire double in the second half, which put the Reds up 3-1.

Furth gained the lead, though, as a result of multiple defensive gaffes. Lukas Petkov scored in the 67th minute, and Armindo Sieb scored again in the 80th minute to give his team a 4-3 lead.
When Nunez linked up with Salah to score the late equalizer that saved Liverpool’s face, the Reds were on the verge of defeat.
