Man United’s New Away Kit for 2023-24 Season

Adidas has created a contentious green-striped design for Manchester United’s gaudy new away shirt for the 2023–24 season.

The sportswear behemoth asserts that the striking uniform was put together to honor United’s “storied past” and embrace a “fresh, modern look.”

The kit also drew inspiration from the city. Its vertical stripes are a nod to the club’s early years; the pattern wasn’t used for two decades.

Stripes of different colors were frequently used in United’s alternate uniforms at the turn of the 20th century, with green and gold and blue and white proving to be popular combinations.

And the green has now unexpectedly made a comeback for Erik ten Hag’s second season as manager, providing a modern take on an Old Trafford throwback.

For the 2023–24 season, Manchester United has unveiled their striking away uniform.

The striking green stripes are inspired by both the city’s architecture and the history of the club.

adidas claims that the maroon-red lines that divide the white stripes between the green blocks are reminiscent of Manchester’s distinctive red bricks and architecture.

The urban landscape at the center of the sprawling city is supposedly represented by the dark green base, which is finished off by a crew-neck collar.

The shirt is also made entirely out of recycled materials.

The HEAT.RDY technology in the jersey’s on-field version enables United’s players to stay cool throughout their games on various fronts next season.

The alternative kit for the fans uses AEROREADY, a similar piece of technology that helps keep the body dry and comfortable.

Numerous United players, including Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, and Marcus Rashford, are prominently featured in the design.

Vertical stripes were frequently worn by United, but they haven’t been seen for 20 years.

One of the players who posed for the comic strip prior to its official release was Lisandro Martinez.

When United plays Wrexham on July 25 as part of their tour of the US, they will debut the away uniform, though fringe players are expected to make an appearance.

The uniform can be purchased from specific adidas retailers as well as United’s club shops.

‘We’re incredibly excited to return to a design that is fundamental to the heritage of this great club,’ an adidas spokesperson exclaimed.

Vertical stripes are a part of Manchester United’s history, and we hope that this daring new look will catch the attention of supporters as they follow the team around the world.

We purposefully drew inspiration from the city itself to give players and visiting fans a sense of familiarity wherever they wear it.
