The public fιght between Kylian Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain over his future has caught the attention of Manchester United, who are apparently preparing to make a sizable offer for the services of the French star.

Mbappe openly stated early in the summer that he would not stay in the French capital through the summer of 2024, but he insisted he wanted to continue playing for Parc des Princes.

The club leadership, though, is convinced that they won’t lose its biggest player for free the following summer and has taken daring steps, such as leaving the 24-year-old out of the squad for their preseason tour of Japan.

Fichajes asserts that despite being aware of the difficulties in pursuing such a highly sought-after talent, the Red Devils are the first team to forward a proposal now that Mbappe is formally available for sale.

They claim that United made Mbappe a “juicy financial proposal” to get him to Old Trafford. The English company is prepared to pay up to 120 million euros (£104 million) in fixed payments and 45 million euros (£40 million) in add-ons in order to complete the transition.

The summer transfer market has seen much discussion regarding United’s perilous position due to financial fair play, but the Spanish site asserts that United are in a strong position in the race for Mbappe because of the financial strength of the Premier League.

Interestingly, it is claimed that convincing the superstar himself will be more difficult for United because he has his heart set on joining Real Madrid.

The France international may have to wait a another 12 months for a transfer to Madrid, though, as Los Blancos are unlikely to match PSG’s rᴜmored asking price of 200 million euros (£173 million) this summer after making significant investments in Bellingham and its new stadium.
